Children's Dental Health Month - Keystone Dental Arts

February is National Children’s Dental Health month, a time each year focused on spreading awareness about the importance of good oral health for our youth.

While it is important to focus on everyone’s oral health all year round, the statistics suggest that an entire month of awareness dedicated to children is warranted.

While recent industry studies suggest that cavities in young people are trending down (great job!), we know there is still work to be done:

An estimated 51 million hours of school are missed by children each year due to dental issues
44% of US children will suffer from pediatric dental disease before they reach kindergarten
Pediatric dental disease tops bumps, bruises or even the flu when it comes to reasons children go to the ER every year.

Teeth are meant to last a lifetime and by helping children develop good oral health habits early on, maybe one day we can turn these stats around too.

At Keystone Dental Arts, we employ the help of our mascot Ribbit to show kids in a friendly way that the journey to good oral health begins with healthy habits. There are three chances to win a Family 4 Pack of Passes to the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire by guessing how many of each item are in the vase. Guess the total number of items in the vase and you’ll win an Oral B Electric Toothbrush and a Family 6 Pack of Passes to the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. You don’t need an appointment to participate, just stop in during office hours to enter your guesses! One winner will be selected in each category in each of the four categories and announced on 2/15/18.
